At Healing Explorer ("we," "us," or "our"), your safety and privacy are the foundation of everything we do. This Privacy Policy explains the very limited information we handle to provide and improve your journey.

Our Core Privacy Principles:

You are Anonymous: We never ask for your name, email, or personal details to use the app. Your identity is completely private.

Your Data Stays on Your Device: The vast majority of your data, including your journal entries, never leaves your phone. It is processed locally, under your control.

We Don't See Your Story: Our developers have zero access to your personal entries or reflections. Your story is for your eyes only.

We Never Sell Your Data: We will never sell or share your personal data with third-party advertisers. No exceptions.

Information We Handle & How We Use It

1. Your Private Journal & AI Reflections: To provide the "Healing Companion" feature, a de-identified copy of your lesson-based reflections is sent to our AI partner for processing.

"De-identified" means we take extensive measures to remove anything that could link the text back to you.

This data is used only to generate your reflection and is never stored or used to train the AI models further.

Your freeform, manual journal entries are never sent and always remain on your device.

2. Anonymized Usage Data: We collect completely anonymous and aggregated data about how the app is used (e.g., which lessons are most popular). This helps us improve the journey for everyone. This data can never be used to identify an individual user.

3. Account & Device Data
Unique Identifier (UUID): A random ID is generated on your device to keep your account working. It is not linked to you personally.

Syncing PIN: A temporary PIN is used only when you sync a new device and is immediately deleted.

4. Payment & Support Data
Payment Data: If you subscribe, your payment is handled by the App Store or Google Play. We do not see or store your credit card information.

Feedback Data: If you email us for support, we will have your email address in order to reply to you.

How We Protect Your Information

We are committed to protecting your data with industry-best security practices.

Encryption: All communication between your device and our servers is strongly encrypted.

Access Control: Access to our systems is strictly limited to authorized personnel for maintenance purposes only.

Regular Audits: We regularly test our systems to ensure they remain secure.

Your Control Over Your Data (Your Rights)

You are in complete control of your information.

Right to Erasure: You have the right to permanently delete your account and all associated anonymous data at any time. You can do this from the settings menu inside the app. This action is irreversible.

Please Note: Deleting your account will not automatically cancel your subscription. You must manage your subscription through the App Store or Google Play where you made the purchase.

Data Retention

We retain anonymous usage data for analytical purposes to improve the app. All other data is deleted when you delete your account or as soon as it is no longer needed to provide the service.

Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have certain rights with respect to your personal data:

Right to Access: You have the right to request access to the limited personal data we hold about you. We will respond to your request in a timely manner.

Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You have the right to request that we erase your personal data. This includes the option to delete all data and UUID associated with your use of the service by deleting your account from within the app. This action is not reversible. Please note that deleting your account does not cancel your Health Explorer subscription. To cancel your subscription, you must do so directly through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or third-party services, depending on how you initially subscribed.
